The Ark of San Juan is a non-profit all volunteer animal rescue organization whose primary mission is to end needless euthanasia of healthy pets. The Ark requires an adoption application, a home check, an adoption contract and an adoption fee of $250 Adult Dogs - $350 Puppies under 1 year (adoption fees may vary for certain situations / breeds). All dogs are altered and up-to-date on vaccinations before they are adopted out.
“Visual breed identification" in dogs/cats are unreliable so for most of the them we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know them as individuals and will do our best to describe each of of them based on personality, not by breed label.
He is a small (10 lbs), sweet, ten-year-old Yorkie Poo. Andy was owner relinquished to a vet partner of The Ark. He is in good health, was recently groomed and had dental work done.
Buddy is a 1.5 year old Jackshund (1/2 Jack Russell Terrier and 1/2 Dachshund) who was brought into The Ark's program due to a domestic violence situation. He is fine with women, girls and cats. He needs to be introduced slowly to men, boys and other dogs. He is undergoing training to be the best canine citizen he can be. He enjoys solving dog treat puzzles and playing with certain cat toys.
Sparky is a very sweet Chi / Terrier mix who is just a year and a half old. She and her sweetheart, Buddy came to The Ark due to a domestic violence situation. Sparky had six healthy puppies, who have all found homes and now it is Sparky's turn!
Rocky is a 9-month old Chihuahua mix. He likes other dogs and is fine with cats.
Sasha is an 8-year-old White German Shepherd. She walks well on a leash and would do best in a home where the foster or adopter is home for most of the day.
